Final Filming Day
Final Filming Day
In the past few days, I finalized all of my filmings. I am now ready to start editing. On the last days of filming, I decided to make a couple choices to change scenes. A choice that I made for all of my radio scenes I would be to do voiceovers. Since there were background noises in the scenes that were not wanted I found that doing a voice-over would be best in this situation. During filming the final scenes I also used myself to play both characters until both characters were seen in the scene together. My sister then came for the final scene and was able to shoot all the scenes. I have been really busy with school and other extracurricular, I wanted to get my filming done so I could start editing and re-shoot any issues while still allowing me time to make any last-minute adjustments. When finishing the films it took a lot of preparations especially because this was a very huge props and costumes scenes. I had to make sure the costumes I had pick matched with the previous mood of the scenes after the adjustments. I've mentioned this before but attention to detail is what is going to really make the movie align with the conventions of the horror genre. Since my scenes don't scream the horror genre the genre is implied and shown throughout. The filming went smoothly however I did have to take a brief break to charge my phone. Although this was the end of my filming I learned that I should always ensure that my recording device is charged, but I was lucky enough to be filming at my house and was able to charge inside my house. I had to make slight adjustments in certain scenes, such as making more cuts in the scenes to ensure that I was getting proper angles with the equipment and people I had. I used light I had in my back yard and a few other bigger lights to help when evening came during filming. Lighting was a change I had to continue into the current scenes that I recorded. To avoid harsh shadows I used the most amount of artificial light and had to make sure I didn't film to late into the night so I was able to still film clear shots. After I finished filming I uploaded all my scenes to a USB and am ready to start editing. Overall I am very pleased the way my filming went and I think I followed the horror genre and conventions well. I had to make some adjustment I wish I hadn't done but I had to make changed due to the resources I had.
