 Introduction to the Music Video Project


    Throughout this whole project, I will be working on my own with help from family to record. All the ideas will come from me but I do need the help of others to execute them. Although other people will be recording for me I will be telling them how to do the shot and at what angle to do it. I am choosing to work by myself because I believe that it is a better way of working on this project. It is easier because I can do the project on my own time and what is best for me because I am the only one I have to consider. This is a lot easier, especially because we are in a time of mainly online learning. If I tried to do it with a group especially considering I'm not the closest to anyone in class it would be hard to meet up and record everything needed. I also think that it's easier because I can do my own ideas and be happy with them instead of having to consider others and collaborate. I would like to do this specific project especially since it is only our third one on my own so I can do my ideas and feel comfortable with what is being produced. I just feel as if during this time with all factors working on my own will have an outcome of a better project. I know I have the ability to compromise and work together with someone but during a pandemic and social distancing, I don't think this is the best time to be working with someone I just met. The song I have chosen is Best Day of My Life by American Authors. This is a song I am very familiar with and it is even on my playlist that I listen to every day. I chose this song because while listening to it I felt the happy joyful vibes and I could picture what I could do in my music video for every part. Although I haven't done my storyboard yet while trying to pick my song I listen to songs on my playlist because I was looking for those motivational happy songs and I would listen to the song with my eyes closed picture how my commercial will look. I then rewatched and listened for lyrics to see if this song lyrics matched up to what I pictured would be happening. When picking a song I also made sure I didn't watch the music video because once you see their idea you feel as if there is no other way to do it. However, if you watch it and think of your own idea you think of many more ideas than what is just seen. I am very happy with the song I chose and I think the message and beat that I want is in the song. I also have the materials and props to make the music video exactly how I would like it. I am very excited about what I have envisioned and I am excited to do more research and record my video.

  All About Me     Hi, my name is Vanessa Gilbert and I am a sophomore this year at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I live at home with my mom and dad, and I have a sister who lives in college. Comparing 9, The Short ,and 9, The Full Length Movie Short Film  Today I watched the short film 9. This is a seven-minute-long animated short film. I really enjoyed watching this short film. The characters were really unique. I honestly liked the rag doll's appearance of some and the robotic appearance of others. The setting was also very unique and cool. It had a post-apocalyptic feel and somewhat reminded me of Wall-e. The sound is what really made an impact on me most though. There was no dialogue in the short film. The only sound really heard is diegetic and score. The lack of sound helped set the mood of the short film a lot. It made moments feel more scary and suspenseful. The sound of the robotic spider characters made me feel as if I was inside the film. The plot was interesting too.
