    Filming Around My House


    Today I started my filming. For my very first shot, I ran into a problem. Where I wanted to have my first shot the lighting couldn't get right. The tone of the commercial is supposed to be happy and upbeat but the lighting turned the mood of the shot sad and more depressed. I tried different things but I ended up just switching to a different room which helped but not completely. So I ended up getting a couple flashlights and positioning them around the room where the show will be. After that, the timing went smoothly. I change some of my locations from room to room but the overall aspect of what was in the shot stayed the same.  I did a couple shot every time even if I thought the one-shot I had gone well so I wouldn't have to do back to reshoot and I would have options in case something was in the background of a one-shot I didn't like the zoom in and out was a little lower in one than the other. Although I can change the speed of a shot in editing the shot doesn't look as smooth. When I went outside to film the daylight wasn't right so I decided to prepare everything and when the lighting was right the next day I decided to film. I got the props I was going to be needing and laid them all out so the next day I just had to take them out and film. I wanted my music video to appear that it is the morning but it takes me longer to film than the time that passes in the music video. I went outside the next day when the time was right and filmed the shots smoothly. I had to reshoot some of the shots a couple times because the camera wasn't at the right angle. If it wasn't because the camera was at a bad angle it was because the camera was a little shaky and I would have rather it be as clean of a shot as I could get it. I had a decent amount of time to shoot specific shots so I wanted to get it as perfect as I could when it came to dealing with camera movements since I am filming on my phone. I finished filming for the first half and I still have the chorus part of the song to film the next following day. The filming when great overall. I can't wait to do more and finish the music video filming and move to editing the project.

  All About Me     Hi, my name is Vanessa Gilbert and I am a sophomore this year at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I live at home with my mom and dad, and I have a sister who lives in college. Comparing 9, The Short, and 9, The Full Length Movie

Comparing 9, The Short ,and 9, The Full Length Movie Short Film  Today I watched the short film 9. This is a seven-minute-long animated short film. I really enjoyed watching this short film. The characters were really unique. I honestly liked the rag doll's appearance of some and the robotic appearance of others. The setting was also very unique and cool. It had a post-apocalyptic feel and somewhat reminded me of Wall-e. The sound is what really made an impact on me most though. There was no dialogue in the short film. The only sound really heard is diegetic and score. The lack of sound helped set the mood of the short film a lot. It made moments feel more scary and suspenseful. The sound of the robotic spider characters made me feel as if I was inside the film. The plot was interesting too. The main character is a rag doll-like with a 9 on its back. 9 seems to have had a mentor or a friend in the past. 9's friend has the same appearance but with a 5 instead of on its back. The...
