Creating a Postcard
Creating a Post Card
I and my group created our postcard. The postcard would be used as an advertisement for our film. We first decided it would be best to make the postcard landscape and double-sided. This way the information and images could be spaced out and look nice. We thought it would look best if we put the title over a picture. This would be the cover of our postcard. When figuring out what picture we wanted we knew it had to match our mystery genre. We ended up choosing a picture of a road since the main character April dies in car accidents every time. When transferring the picture to the postcard we made the picture more "dull" by making the picture more black and white than colorful. When writing our name on the postcard we found it difficult to find what color to make the title. We wanted it to be a very neutral color, like black white, or grey. We tried the different colors but it was hard to get a color to stand out since we had already made the picture on the front dull with similar colors to grey and black. After testing different colors we found that white looked the best. After finishing the front of the postcard we then started the back. On the back, we started by adding all of the essential information. This included showing times and dates, the film festival it's being shown at, the address to that place, and our social media. We ordered all the information in a very simple and spaced-out way that would ensure the information will be easily found and accessible. With accessibility in mind, we also made the font bigger to make sure it was easy to read. Next, we focused on social media. When it came to social media we wanted to make sure our social media were easily accessible for anyone who is given or finds our postcards. With this idea in mind, we created a QR code people could scan. That was how we created our first form of physical advertisement.
