A Level Intro Blog







 Hi, my name is Vanessa Gilbert and I am a junior this year at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I live at home with my mom and dad, I also have a sister who is a sophomore in college. I have one dog and two cat but I would love to have another dog. I've been playing travel softball for 10 years and it is something I have loved my whole life, I play on weekends and some weekdays. Some other things I enjoy are Marvel movies and cars. New and innovative cars such as tesla's have always sparked my interest. The idea that you could create these amazing machines just from a idea. Stemming from my love of Telsa, someone I admire so much in my life is Elon Musk. I admire how he was able to create an empire from his ideas, and he used those ideas to better the world through innovation. That is something I would like to do with my life too. Another thing about me is that my favorite subject in class is science, specifically physics. Last year I took AICE Media AS Level and passed. I usually don't like school but media was a class I always looked forward to because I could make what I wanted out of it. I wasn't learning to follow someone else's vision I was making my own. I enjoyed media a lot more then I expected which is why I wanted to take A level. I liked the idea of creating something from just an idea, AICE Media AS Level allowed me the chance to do what I admired other people for. Although I am excited enough to continue AICE Media with A level I am also very excited to be in person for this class. Since I took AICE Media AS Level last year I was unable to take this class in person due to Covid-19. I feel like the class will be even better this year because I can easily interact and work with others for filming. I feel like this change will be for the better and will enhance the Media experience. I can't wait to get started with this class.

  All About Me     Hi, my name is Vanessa Gilbert and I am a sophomore this year at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I live at home with my mom and dad, and I have a sister who lives in college. I love all animals, and in addition to my family members, I have a dog names biscuit and two cats named rainbow and teddy who live at the house and are basically family. My favorite class in school is usually science but this year I am excited for a couple of my classes too. I especially am excited for AICE Media because I have always been really interested in movie making and how the idea of a movie comes together. Comparing 9, The Short, and 9, The Full Length Movie

Comparing 9, The Short ,and 9, The Full Length Movie Short Film  Today I watched the short film 9. This is a seven-minute-long animated short film. I really enjoyed watching this short film. The characters were really unique. I honestly liked the rag doll's appearance of some and the robotic appearance of others. The setting was also very unique and cool. It had a post-apocalyptic feel and somewhat reminded me of Wall-e. The sound is what really made an impact on me most though. There was no dialogue in the short film. The only sound really heard is diegetic and score. The lack of sound helped set the mood of the short film a lot. It made moments feel more scary and suspenseful. The sound of the robotic spider characters made me feel as if I was inside the film. The plot was interesting too. The main character is a rag doll-like with a 9 on its back. 9 seems to have had a mentor or a friend in the past. 9's friend has the same appearance but with a 5 instead of on its back. The...
