Final Touches
Final Touches
Overall I am very happy with the final product of my film. I spent most of my time re-watching my film and looking to see if I could make any more changes. One aspect I paid close attention to was spelling. In life, I struggle when it comes to spelling. Since the editing software I use to add my titles does not have spell check I made it a point to check all of my spelling. I had spelt one word wrong but since the title cards are such an important aspect the least I could do was to ensure I spelt everything correctly. After checking for spelling I went back and changed the diegetic and non-diegetic layout. I took away some of my overlapping non-diegetic sounds because I thought the scene was too busy. Certain diegetic and non-diegetic sound is needed, however when it is too much it takes away from the actual film. After shortening and also extending some clips I also had to go back and re-edit the sounds to match with the newly changed film. The opening sequence is only 2 minutes and I had to edit my scenes a lot to make the scenes fit into the time allowed. Each small change I made in the scenes such as changing the time of one shot I had to realign the sound that had been placed over the scenes. After changing a little of the titles and sound I found that the only thing left for me to change in my film was the volume to make each sound. All of the diegetic and non-diegetic sounds were aligned perfectly, however, now I went back and changed the volumes they were all played at. Since I had finished filming my actual scenes and editing, on this last day of editing I was really specific when changing certain things. Like I said when I took out certain audio I didn't want the scenes to be too busy. Since I had non-diegetic sound playing the whole time I decided to make that at about 75% volume. I made the diegetic sound at 100% to 150%. The percentage of volume wavered because when recording some scenes had a louder volume, however in my film the diegetic sound appears to be at the same volume. Editing went really well and really helped me smoothly combine all of the aspects of my film. I am really happy with the way everything went from filming to editing and to the final product.
