My Pitch

 My Pitch


    I came up with 2 pitch ideas. Both of my pitch ideas are surrounded by the theme of horror. Horror is a theme I am really interested in because I am specifically fascinated by how you can make someone feel fear in the safety from where they are watching their show. How someone can feel fear as if they are witnessing it in person however knowing that they are just watching something thru a screen. This is the reason both of my pitches are based on horror. My first pitch is revolved around a mystery killer. The opening sequence will be the first kill that starts all the mystery of the film. The setting will be introduced which is a normal city town and the opening sequence will include the first kill to follow many. The opening sequence will also introduce the first killer's subject and the way the killer kills. This will grab the viewer's attention without giving the killer's identity, relationship, and motive away. The audience will be left with questions after they view the sequence and interested to watch more. The second pitch is about two vandalistic kids who take their ways too far one day and kill someone by mistake when they get into an argument. After they kill someone they realize that they can never go back to the way they used to be. The bodies pile up as they try to cover up their mistakes and they keep digging themselves into a hole they will never be able to get out of. The opening sequence will only consist of their lives as a vandalistic duo and introduce them to the audience. The last part of the opening sequence will be the death of their first victim and set the ominous tone for the rest of the movie that will not be seen. I am leaning towards the second pitch because I feel like there is more of a background to work with and a storyline to present in the opening sequence. However, the first pitch will be easier because there are fewer people that I need to act and will be easier for me to film. However, I know that this will be a challenge and I am prepared to do my best and I think the second pitch will provide that. So overall I do believe both of my ideas will be great but I am leaning towards the first pitch.

  All About Me     Hi, my name is Vanessa Gilbert and I am a sophomore this year at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I live at home with my mom and dad, and I have a sister who lives in college. Comparing 9, The Short ,and 9, The Full Length Movie Short Film  Today I watched the short film 9. This is a seven-minute-long animated short film. I really enjoyed watching this short film. The characters were really unique. I honestly liked the rag doll's appearance of some and the robotic appearance of others. The setting was also very unique and cool. It had a post-apocalyptic feel and somewhat reminded me of Wall-e. The sound is what really made an impact on me most though. There was no dialogue in the short film. The only sound really heard is diegetic and score. The lack of sound helped set the mood of the short film a lot. It made moments feel more scary and suspenseful. The sound of the robotic spider characters made me feel as if I was inside the film. The plot was interesting too.
